List of annoyances:

  • Colleges with 'happy' people on their flyers. Know who I'm talking about? The colleges that only have people who are smiling and looking at the camera like they're having the best time of their life. It's so fake that it just completely turns me off of wanting to go to that college.

  • People that don't think of how their actions/thoughts could and do affect others. This can stretch from anywhere from people who smoke around babies/kids/me, or people who litter. It's all wrong, and yet the people that are doing the offence don't see how it affects themselves or other people.

  • Watercolor paints. They're so....water-ish. They just annoy me. To make gray you are supposed to dilute black with water. Well guess what? You dilute with water and while it turns out that you do have a grayish color, it also gives you a soaking wet brush and it's weird to paint with.

  • Too much schoolwork. Or, not enough schoolwork. I'd like a happy medium somewhere in there, where I have assignments I can do if I'm super bored, but not so many to do that i have no time to do anything else and I'm always stressing.

  • The tingly feeling I'm starting to get (lasts all day) in my little and ring fingers on both hands because I'm using my keyboard too much, and/or have my hands positioned wrong.

On the other hand (just so it doesn't seem that I'm in a totally cranky mood)....
List of things I love/adore

  • The word 'adore'

  • Funky colored Nail polishes, painted in weird/different patterns.

  • Music.

  • My new tank tops :)

  • My exercise machine, and the fact that I've done 2 miles every day for the past 4 days (3 miles the first day) :)

  • The weight you can notice I'm losing from said exercise.

  • My sandals. They're at least a year or two old, but they're comfy and simple yet also fancy.

  • The satire...Daria.

  • Satires in general.

  • Other people's Blogs (all listed on my links section, all great).

  • Websites.

  • Yahoo Instant Messenger and all my 'people'

  • AOL Instant Messenger, because I can talk to my grandmother on it :)

  • My baby pictures.

  • High-speed cable internet (when it is actually high speed, so not often)

  • The fact that, for the moment at least, my 'love's out-number my annoyances.

  • My blog.

This-or-that.org

May 27: Personal Habits, Quirks, Routines, etc.

1. Do you prefer silence or do you like background sound (music, TV, etc)?

Usually background sound. If I'm reading or working on the computer, or doing school, I need the background noise. However, if I'm reading Scarlet Letter I need complete silence.

2. Bathe/shower in morning or evening?

I shower in mornings. I don't like baths much, I've taken 1 in the whole year we've lived in this house. I'm a shower person.

3. Sleeping in complete darkness, or with a nightlight on?

4. Lay out clothes the night before, or just grab what's closest in the morning?

Grab something that is decent in the morning. I wouldn't just grab anything, cause I like to look nice, but I don't normally lay out my stuff the night before.
5. Hang up/fold clothes neatly, or just toss them wherever?

If it's good clothes, or new stuff, I hang it up. If it's just normal clothes I stuff them into my dresser drawers. My mom freaks out if I just leave them in the baskets or whatever, so I shove them in my wonderful, antique (from my great-great-great grandfather) dresser.

6. Work out at a gym, or at home on your own (or do you not bother with exercise)?

I'm working out at home, on this run/walk machine thingy we got. I'm trying to do at least 2 miles a day. Did 3 yesterday, 2 today. I wouldn't have the guts to work out at a gym.

7. Talk on the phone, or via IM/e-mail?

IM/Email

8. Are you usually on time, or late?

On time. Unless it's totally unavoidable, I hate being late, and I hate when others are late. But what's worse is if they say they're going to call/come over at 3 then come over around 5. very annoying.

9. Spendthrift or frugal?

If it's my money, I spend it. If it's someone elses, I hate spending it.

10. Thought-Provoking Question of the Week: You work with someone who is not in the habit of bathing regularly. The smell seems to be getting worse and worse! Would you: 1. try to do something about it, or 2. try to grin and bear it? If you said 1, what would you do?

I'd try to grin and bear it. If I really couldn't stand it, I'd figure out a clever way to buy him/her some soap or perfume/cologne.

Tada! New template. I'm very hoppy with it. haha. There's actually a story involved in my choosing of this template, it has to do with walmart, wanna hear it?

Anyway, how are you people doing? I'm ok, but a little bored and very restless. And I can't really do anything cause I over-exercised yesterday and now my leg muscles hurt. grr. I could do school, but I can't concentrate on it. I could read my book, that I have to read for school...the Scarlet Letter....but I need complete quiet for that, and since the tv is on, my sister is awake, Gidget is still awake, and someone has a weird screensaver that makes bird chirping and dinosaur roar noises, I have to wait until later to dredge up the energy to read it. It's not that it's a boring book, it is interesting, it's just not really my usual type of book, and I'd prefer to read one of my normal books than read that. Especially since I just got a whole boxful of books :) I only have 20 pages left on my one book....100 pages on Scarlet Letter, so I think I'm going to finish my one book first, and then not read anything else until I read S.L. And this time I'll stick with it (I made the same 'deal' last week).

We didnt' go yardsaling :( Too much rain and miserable weather :'(

Oh, an update notice:

hoover blogged. I've given up on her blogging faithfully. sigh.

my bro blogged too, for the first time :) About batteries, which surprised me cause who knew he thought about batteries? This blog of his could be very insightful :) Oh, and he has a commenting system, different than haloscan (which is what my sis and I have) and it's pretty cool. Lots of cute/weird/scary smilies :) I personally like the one with the middle smiley getting smushed :)

We made rice-crispy treats today. I told mom we shouldn't, because I've actually been doing pretty well at not eating too much junk food. So mom asked me to make them and I begged off, saying how we shouldn't make them cause she's not supposed to tempt me with junk....but I ended up helping her make them (I poured the marshmallows into the pot, and the rice crispies. yay. lol). And then I ate some, but not a lot cause I don't want to totally blow my good streak. And now all I can think about is those dang rice crispies. And of course she made a double batch. grrrr. grrr...and at the same time..yummy

I was just on the net, and all of a sudden I found myself coming to this blog, logging in, and now here I am. I dunno why. I'm not posting much though, I'm going yard-saling tomorrow (if it doesn't RAIN) and not much else to blog about.

What do you think of commercials? The kind on tv, not the super annoying radio ones. They used to annoy me. They still sometimes do. I used to figure out what was wrong with each individual commercial, be it hypocritical, lying, improper English, or just plain stupid. I can/do pretty much critique each and every commercial. But this week, while watching the X-Games on ESPN, and ESPN2, I saw some great commercials. The first one that comes to mind is the one with Tiffany Amber-Theissan (sp?) and her "nephew"- it's for McDonalds and it's super cute. The other one that I really enjoyed reminded me of something I would do... it was, again, for McDonalds... A dad is trying to coax his little boy into jumping off the dock into the pond, while the sister watches. The dad then says "If you jump it, we'll all go to McDonalds" You can see the boy thinking about it, but all of a sudden SPLASH! The sister shoves the brother into the pond, and starts running towards the car saying "I"ll meet you at the car! Hurry up!"

The last one that I really enjoy is also kind of annoying. The song gets stuck in my head, and plays over and over. No sooner do I get the song out of my head, then I see the commercial again. It's a vicious cycle. What commercial is it? It's for..(I think) Coor's Light Beer. It's that 'Wingman' commercial. You've probably seen it, it's been on for a while. It has a guy in like the background strumming a guitar and singing about how this guy that is sitting at a table is the 'wingman'. Basically, guy #1 (the wingman) is entertaining a lady so his best friend can dance with the lady's friend. The lyrics go something like..."A (something) investment banker.. who talks about herself and not much more.......so buy her a beer, pretend that's the reason you're here....Wingmaaaaan!" (hmm, I hope that wasn't copywrited..)

Anyway, I really like those commercials.

USA won Global X!!!!!!!! YAY!
Yes folks, it's that time again....

For a new template, that is. I'm sick of this one. Don't get me wrong, I still like it, but.... it's pink. There's no getting around it anymore, it's pink. Sigh. But don't worry, I've just picked out a template, and lets just say it makes me hoppy..err...happy. ;)

I really ought to have something worth blogging about other than my template changes or shopping. I haven't been shopping since the last blog, so don't worry I won't talk about that.

My life has been busy lately, there's been a lot of worries/stress about things, including-but-not-limited-to schoolwork. I have a ton to do, and school officially ends June 27th (most work has to be done by the 20th) and there probably won't be a summer school this year so.... I might be in major trouble. I'm trying to talk my mom into being ok with me failing my Art Studio 2 class, but I don't think she'll be too happy if I do. She keeps yelling at me when I suggest it. But, if I think about it realistically, I doubt there's any way I can get it all done. I have like 25 art assignments to do right now at this moment, and my teacher is going to continue posting until she gets them all up, about 20 more. Then there's my Spanish 2, I'm stuck on an assignment and the Spanish teacher is out on a family emergency for a week (maybe more). The substitute teacher hasn't answered my question yet, and meanwhile I'm stuck in limbo.

I didn't hear anything on that job, so I doubt I'm getting it.

I have a dentist appointment at the end of the month, and a doctor appointment the day before the dentist. But I might not be able to go to the doctor appointment, because someone is coming to inspect our house on the same day as my appointment (not that our house is horrid or anything, it's just a routine inspection for where we live), so unless my dad drives me to my appointment, if he's home on that day, I won't go to my doctor appointment and I'll just have to reschedule. No big deal, except I'd rather get it over with. Shots and hearing/vision tests, blah blah yadda yadda.

Oh, and I have my drivers permit now. I have a small problem though- I don't want to drive. Honestly, I think I'm scared. Not so scared that I'll wreck the car and kill myself, but more scared that I'll hit someone else and hurt them. I mean, I only have a little Pontiac Sunbird, but who knows? There's no way I could live with the guilt, let alone have my parents/insurance pay for whatever I do. It's just too much to think about. BUT the kicker is, I don't have a choice. My dad is losing his license in the middle of June (long, sorta complicated, depressing story that I don't want to get into) so my mom will be driving him from auction to auction and I'll have to get my license so I can help out, and also so my mom doesn't get so ragged driving everywhere everyday. So, I have no choice but to get it. The good thing is, I don't have to wait the mandatory 6 months that PA makes permit-holders wait, since I already had my permit for over a year. Oh! And the best part of getting my permit again--- It only cost $5! Apparently it only had to be renewed- which I wasn't sure about since I lost it, it expired, and we moved- and renewals of permits only cost 5 bucks. A lot better than the original $31 that I paid. Especially better since my dad paid the $5 renewal fee since he's the reason I didn't get my license the first time. :)

Hmm...what else? Oh, in Art studio I had to paint a still life...so guess what I chose? A tomato and a green pepper. hehe. They were rotten too. I didn't think they would turn out well, what with the fruit being rotten and me being a rotten watercolor painter, but actually I think they're my favorite thing that I've painted thus far. Pretty surprising. Oh, I also painted a picture of our dog Gidget (had to paint a live animal) and I did a 'landscape' scene using glazing, which wasn't that hard but was more annoying because I had to wait for the paint to dry before I could add another coat and I'm a very impatient person when it comes to anything requiring creativity. The sooner its over, the better. Especially painting. I mean, I like being creative, but only for like a half hour before my attention span goes in other directions.

Oh! (sorry, that probably gets annoying) I'm now getting school time/credit for blogging. I have to have 990 hours of school a year, and I am pathetically far from that number now, but my wonderful American Literature/English teacher said I can request up to 3 hours per week of time for blogging. If you think about it, 3 hours isn't that much, but it's something at least. Every little bit helps, especially when you're as far behind in school as me. :)

Ok, I'm off to start/finish the coding for that template, shouldn't be too hard since it's from Groovy Lizards and they usually have it pretty well set up, just change the links etc. Easy stuff that even I can do (hopefully) ;)

Oops. The last post threw this alignment off. Sorry, but blogger won't let me fix it :(

I had the interview. It was for a job working the concession stand (and like doing other stuff but mainly concession) at a movie theater. It sounds ok, not my dream job but not my nightmare either. It'll be nights/weekends/holidays. I kinda like that, I'd rather work nights anyway. It's like $5.25 an hour, which is only like 10cents above minimum wage for PA, but it's better than nothing. I'm not sure if I have the job or anything, it was just an interview and he has more interviews today and then he'll be making the decision next week. Now I just wait. sigh. I hate waiting for anything. IF I get the job I have to buy black pants (since I only have jeans) and black sneakers (since I only have black sandals) and some white tshirts since I don't have any cause I usually stain them. That's a lot of stuff to buy, more shopping :)

We just went shopping, at Kmart. We didn't get much. Then we went and picked up our lay-a-way from Wal*Mart. My mom's one white shirt is all stained, and it wasn't stained when we bought it so someone must have stained it before they put it in the box. grrr.

Hmm...well, besides that I'm behind on my schoolwork (of course) that's about all my news :)

I got a job interview!

Tomorrow, at 2pm. Excuse me a minute.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! :O :O :O

Ok I'm done. Wish me luck (good luck preferably)

Guess what I've been doing. Shopping! I love/adore shopping. It doesn't matter if it's shopping for clothes, shoes, food, anything. It doesn't have to be stuff for me (I typically don't get anything) and it doesn't even have to be that anyone gets anything, I like just window shopping too. I just love shopping.

So, on Tuesday my Mom, sis, I all went shopping. Hoover is like me, and loves shopping. Although, not quite as much as I do. My mom on the other hand, has always hated shopping. She once said the only way she can tolerate it is because my sister and I love it so much and act like such goofs/idiots/morons in the stores (not in an embarassing way, just a funny way) that it's almost fun for her. She's getting used to shopping now though, and (although she won't admit it) I think she likes it.

Anyway, on Tuesday we went to Wal*Mart. Fun fun. And you know how I said I don't typically buy stuff? Well, this time the trip was basically made for me, since I needed new shirts (mom was sick of seeing me in only dark blue, black, or my one red tank top) and some shorts for Summer. Also I needed (and still do) bras. The only kind of shopping I hate--bra shopping. It's annoying.

I got a ton of stuff (well, it seemed like it anyway):

1 light blue with dark blue stripe tank top

1 black tank top (and I really really like this tank top)

1 set of 2 tank tops, a dark/navy blue one, and a light/sky blue tank top

underwear

1 pair of shorts (didn't like the other pairs)

1 cute black shirt (with only little/short sleeves, so it won't be hot) that has a small slit cut down the front and then the slit is tied almost-closed with shiny black ribbon. very cute.
hmmm....I think that's it. It doesn't look like much now that i typed it out, but it's definetly enough, seeing as how I still have stuff I wear (and will continue to wear until it is too hole ridden) and I didn't really technically need the new stuff. It's on lay-a-way though, so it's not like I even have it right now :( But soon, maybe Monday (maybe) I'll have my new stuff. Within a month anyway (cause that's when the layaway runs out). I can't wait. :)

Oh, and I think we're going shopping tomorrow. If not tomorrow, then soon. We decided to try Kmart. If we can find a Kmart that is still open, lol (a lot of Kmarts where I live have closed--or maybe that was a lot of kmarts nationally have closed?). We'll put more stuff on Lay-a-way. We still didn't get all the stuff that mom has on her "to buy" list. Good thing I love shopping.

Oh, yea, my mom wanted me to ask: "does anyone have any suggestions on a good/cheap easy-to-use (it's my mom using it, so has to be easy) cd burner? Let me know, if you have a suggestion, please."

I've been doing schoolwork! yay for me. lol. I even set up a plan with my Spanish teacher that I have to do 1.5 assignments a day (or 3 every 2 days) in order to finish on time, and I have to email her every Friday to let her know what assignment I'm working on, how it's going, etc. It'll be nice to be accountable, sometimes I work better if I'm given guidelines. But I guess that's most people, isn't it? I did like 4 health assignments today, 2 Science's (the lymphatic system---yuck, and boring), and 2 or 3 Spanish assignments.

Now if only I could get up the want-to to paint my art assignments. I just don't like the assignments. Well, truthfully, I don't like painting in watercolor (which is what all my assignments are). I look at a crappy house I just painted in watercolors (and trust me, it's horrible) and I think how much better I could have sketched/drawn it. I love drawing. I drew the cast of Daria the other day, lol. It's not that great, each character has maybe one or 2 things that could be improved in my drawings, but it's a lot better than anything I've ever watercolor painted. I like acrylic/tempera paints though. And I love painting walls. That's the fun stuff. But not watercolor. Well, only 1 quarter left of watercolor painting (or like only 33 days...ahhhh!), then I'm done with it. :)

At least now my blog has a new template, so I can work on schoolwork instead of thinking about that. lol. Although, maybe it should be a different color? I'm not sure if I like the pink. No, wait, it's better if I call it wine-colored. Or, as hoov suggested, berry. It's not exactly a pink, so yes, now it's either wine or berry colored. Much better than pink. lol. Point is, I don't have to think about my old greenbean template that apparently nobody liked besides me :( (even hoov, who shares my love of greenbeans, only said "cool". sigh) So now it's berries. What is it with me and food? lol

Tada! My site is now:

Labeled with ICRA

:] :] :) :D

I think it's working anyway. I hope so. It wasn't really really hard, a bit complicated and I had to think to do it (which is always a task), but I think it's working now :)

Now, if only I concentrated on schoolwork as much as I do my blog.....I have
18 Art Studio 2 assignments to do (1 long one due by June 6th, lol)
4 Healths (due by end of week)
12 sciences
12 Spanish 2
and a grand total of: 375 (of 990)more hours to do in order to pass this year.

Sigh. Whatever happened to me being caught up with assignments as soon as the teachers put them up?? I really used to be pretty good at staying on track, and getting all my stuff in on time. Sometime after the second quarter I slacked off...and now....now I have to devote myself to my school. I know what happened. Yahoo messenger. Oh, and this blog. Both have been a serious hinderance (sp?) to my schoolwork getting done. Sigh. I am going to get back on track though, I can do it, I did it before. It's just going to be a lot of work. Those assignments are just the assignments that I have to do as of right now, the teachers will be adding more periodically. I know my spanish teacher will be adding at least 40 more assignments to be done by June 20. AHHHHHH! So, yes, I'm going to be very strict with myself, and start doing more school assignments. As soon as I'm done with the new template. lol.

Saturday, May 03, 2003

I created a new blog (not worth posting the url here cause it's not much of a blog) to test the new version of Blogger. Dano is it? Anyway, it's kinda cool. Not much different than the old.

Friday, May 02, 2003

The Friday Five are a little..um..strange this week. But here they are:

1. Name one song you hate to admit you like.

Umm.... I don't really have one. I like all kinds of music, and I'm not embarrassed over my choices. Hardly any of my music is the 'popular' music anymore, at one time it might have been, but the enthusiasm wore off for the masses and I stuck with it. So, no, I don't have a song I'd hate to admit I like, because I'll tell you what I like, regardless of whether you may or may not agree with my choices. thank you. *bows*

2. Name two songs that always make you cry.

I'm not sure I have 2 songs. Recently that song by Three Doors Down "When I'm gone" gets me a little depressed, but usually only when I really get into the song or if I'm watching the video. I don't think I have a second song. Usually music cheers me up, no matter how depressing the music is supposed to be.

3. Name three songs that turn you on.

Why do you want to know? Hmm...3 songs that turn me on.....

......

.......

.......

ummm, I give up. I've no clue. Good music= good time. Couldn't say there is one particular song (or 3) that turns me on. What an odd question, lol.

4. Name four songs that always make you feel good.

Weird/horrible as it sounds, Eminem's "Drug Ballad 2" (I think it's 2 anyway, it's off of Marshall Mathers LP). Sophie B Hawkins "As I lay me down", Good Charlotte's "Bloody Valentine" and "Runaway Train" by Soul Asylum. Runaway Train because it's a song my mom and I always sing together everytime it's on the radio, ever since I was little. Was just always a favorite song.

5. Name five songs you couldn't ever do without.

I don't know if I have 5. As long as i have good music, not the B.Spears/Aguilara crap (that doesn't count as music), I'm happy. I don't necessarily have to have any one song to live, I just need music.

So there ya go, a very music themed F5.

And because I'm bored, even though it's not Saturday these are last week's Saturday Scruples

A patient calls late Friday to inquire about a test result. You're only a lab technician and can't tell the patient he's healthy and needn't worry all weekend. Do you break the rules?

I wouldn't break the rules exactly, but I wouldn't exactly be like "I'm not telling you anything call back Monday". It'd be more like..."Have fun this weekend and don't worry about your tests. Call sometime Monday and they can tell you then." Not exactly breaking them but close.

A good friend is a bouncer at a Mafia-owned club. He urgently needs a place to hide. Do you hide him?
Why would a good friend of mine be a bouncer at a Mafia-owned club? I'm not sure if I would or not. Probably, because I'm a sap. But I don't think I'd hide him at my house, cause that would put my family in danger. I'd probably just give him money for a hotel or something. Not sure.

Your friendly hairdresser has the sniffles and unconsciously wipes his nose with his hand. You're having a haircut. Do you say something?

YES. I don't get the scruple here. Why wouldn't I say anything? I mean yea, the person might be embarrassed to be caught wiping his nose on his hand, but what's the alternative? Wearing snot as hair gel? I don't think so. Eww.

Thursday, May 01, 2003

Time for a new template, wouldn't ya say? As much as I love green/snapbeans, my family has told me that many people don't love them like I do, and are probably getting bored looking at the template. How anyone can not love raw stringbeans, i dunno. But alas, I'll change the template soon.

Oh, and Amanda, if you want to see hoover's watermelon template that she had up, she said I can put it up on her blog till Saturday, so hurry up and go look. Oh, but I'm not switching the tagboard colors, it's too much of a pain in the butt. Just imagine that the tagboard colors actually matched lol.
